The mega auction of the 18th season of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. James Anderson is the oldest player

If we look at the oldest player among the 574 players shortlisted for the IPL mega action, England legend James Anderson, who bid adieu to international cricket this year, is the oldest player. Anderson was 42 years and 108 days old on 15 November 2024. James Anderson is taking part in the IPL auction after a long time as he has focused exclusively on playing for England for the past decade. Apart from this, he played his last T20 match in August 2014. Anderson has played a total of 44 T20 matches and has taken 41 wickets in his career. Anderson got a place in the mega auction at a base price of Rs 1.25 crore.

Ayush Mhatre is the youngest player

Mumbai’s Ayush Mhatre, who is 17 years and 122 days as on November 15, is the youngest player to be shortlisted for the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Ayush has played only 5 first-class matches in his cricket career so far in which he has scored 321 runs at an average of 35.66, during which he has seen one century and one half-century with the bat. Ayush plays as an opening batsman.
