Vivek Ramaswamy to launch DOGEcast podcast with Elon Musk, to share regular cost-cutting updates

Vivek Ramaswamy, who will co-chair Donald Trump Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with billionaire Elon Musk announced that he would be pausing his own weekly podcast to launch a new show with Elon called “DOGEcast,” in which he would give the nation “regular updates on his cost-cutting.”

President-elect Donald Trump has selected Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Writing in a joint op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, the two said the department’s primary goal is to reduce the size and scope of the federal government. Kasturi and Ramaswamy plan to achieve this through significant regulatory cuts and staff reductions.
“Our nation was founded on the fundamental idea that the people we elect run the government. That’s not how America works today,” the duo said in their op-ed. They argued that the current system, with its numerous regulations and civil service safeguards, had become overly bureaucratic and expensive.
Musk and Ramaswamy criticized the “rules and regulations” made by unelected officials, calling them “anti-democratic”. He believes the DOGE, which he describes as a “lean team of small-government crusaders,” will help return power to elected representatives and reduce the influence of career bureaucrats.
In a recent piece in the Wall Street Journal, Musk announced plans to target government spending, calling bureaucracy an “existential threat” to US democracy. The billionaire specifically named public broadcasting and Planned Parenthood as examples of costs he would aim to cut.
He also indicated his intention to work with fellow businessman and former presidential candidate to reduce federal regulations and implement administrative cuts to save costs. The couple believes these actions will address what they see as bureaucratic overreach.
